Parties: Munatour NYC

On Friday December 20, 2013 I had the pleasure of attending the Munaluchi City to City tour – NYC. It was an opportunity for Coterie Members (their esteemed vendors list including yours truly) to meet, mix and mingle with each other as well as prospective couples. I had a GREAT time! See for yourself:

Parties: Rion & KC – A Baby Shower fit for a “King”

I sat down with Rion and KC 4 weeks before their babyshower.  They had NO theme, NO venue & NO clue what to do. The only thing they knew was the soon to be born son will be nicknamed “KING”.  Naturally I did what I do with a lot of my couples…brainstorm…and asked “let’s just run down a list of things you both love”:

  • KC: Gold & Gambling

…amongst others. So with a bit more brainstorming and some direction,  we decided on a red and gold Royal King Theme. Take a look at some of the details from this shower:

We had a great time working with Rion and KC and am now pleased to report that baby Kairo (or Cairo) was delivered safely on Friday Novemeber 2, 2012 in Brooklyn, New York.  Mom is a trooper and dad is probably still speachless. I can’t wait to see baby pics:)
And also, THANKS to the following vendors that helped us make this happen:

Planning: Laced and Lovely

Lace continues to be a very popular choice for brides when choosing bridal gowns especially since the wedding of Chelsea Clinton and Kate Middleton. But if you are a lover of lace like I am it doesn’t have to stop at the gowns. You can incorporate lace in your table linens, wrapped around votives, as a sash for your bridesmaids and my favorite in the cake decor.

These lace decor cakes are so pretty you will be confused on wether to wear them or eat them.
What makes a lace cake even more fantastic is the design on the cake matches the lace in your gown or decor ( please don’t overdue it with lace EVERYTHING) too much lace is NOT a good thing.
SO, how are YOU incorporating lace into your wedding?

Pretty Little Things: Mix it Up

On my wish list right now…and UNTIL I get one in my hands:

Custom Designed mixer.
I may have mentioned one time that I am a better baker than I am cooker and it is so true. But think of how much better my red velvet cupcakes would be coming from one of these mixers. It’s a MUST have for any one that loves to bake. Nicole Dinardo of Un Amore Custom Designs, makes all kinds of custom designed items but these mixers have to be my faves. Check them out!

Pretty Little Things: Raise the Cake

I just adore these cake stands from Raise The Cake.:

and even for your cupcakes:

What a great way to add some show stopping details to your cake table. Raise The cake has an array of colors and styles for you to choose from, offering you a great way to carry through your overall vision into your cake stand as well. After all, your cake is a showpiece and they too, deserve a standing ovation.

Pretty Little Things: Blooms – A Breath of Fresh Flowers

No longer just the “old style” filler flower, Baby’s Breath used on its own can create a fresh looking statement in your event decor. Take a look at some fabulous ways in which you can make Baby’s Breath wow’em in your centerpiece, bouquets and even cake adornments:

Parties: The Great Bridal Expo

On October 5, 2009 I attended the packed Bridal Expo held at the Marriott Marquis in Midtown Manhattan. The expo was frequented by many brides, grooms couples and families and boy did it show and a wide array of vendors. Due the the amount of attendees, did I mention it was packed, it was a bit difficult to get one on one time with some of the vendors but I was able to take a few flicks of some sights that appealed to me. Take a look below:

And last but not least…

My name up high:

…no relation, just couldn’t help myself

If you are in the NYC area and would like to check out the Bridal Expo, it will be back at the Marriott Marquis on January 18, 2010,

Pretty Little Things: Friday for the Fellas – Cakes

Are you having a grooms cake? Do you think it is even necessary? I am still teetering on this one. When you think about the cost of the entire wedding this might be one area of the overall budget that may suggest you pause on, BUT if you are doing great on the budget or there is no budget then it is a great addition to the wedding roster. Especially when the grooms cake is a reflection of the grooms hobby, a play on an inside joke or just a reflection of one of his favorites. Take a look at some creative grooms cakes:
